Barton Jones Wines | Donnybrook

I love a new discovery, especially when it comes to wine and food.

Barton Jones Wines in Donnybrook was a Sunday drive down a curious road for me, that has now become a frequented favourite.

You can see why its owners Jackie and Adrian fell in love with Donnybrook; the orchards in blossom, rolling green hills and friendly locals quickly felt like home to both of them.

From the amazing design of their cellar door to the magic vista from the deck, passion is evident in this place.

The building, made from straw bales has minimal impact on the natural surrounds and vineyard, while also fitting right in to the landscape.

“This is particularly the case with our dry grown vineyard which has its own variables during the hot dry Summer. “

The couple’s dedication and perseverance has more than paid off.

“We’re proud the wines that we make are worthy of being on any table, the world over, and that they bring praise from well-respected wine aficionados,” Jackie added.

We couldn’t agree more!

Pleasures are simple at Barton Jones and that’s part of its charm; the atmosphere is relaxed, with platters on the menu perfect to enjoy with a glass of wine or coffee and cake to linger over.

“Wine is best enjoyed with food in our opinion, which is why we showcase our wines with the amazing produce we have here in the South West including some delicious artisan cheeses,”
We love using organic, local produce where possible
