A Taste of Spain | Ferguson Valley
Opening a bottle of local vino at Green Door Wines, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve left the Ferguson Valley and landed in Spain!
The Geographe Wine Region is impressive on any given day, but when the sun is shining and the cellar door is open, you’d be hard pressed to find a reason not to enjoy yourself here.
We love visiting the cellar doors of newly opened wineries; they are mostly owner operated and run by owners who are ‘living the dream’ - full of passion and enthusiasm.
And so it is with Green Door’s owners Kath and Ashley, who clearly love their work.
You’re welcomed by a breathtaking view, and once you’ve finished admiring that, a smile and a glass of wine. Simple and perfect.
The owners love of travel is obvious in the winery, it’s Spanish influences due to their love of wine and hospitality the iconic Green Door is also a photo #selfie must.
I love the unique tasting style of mini carafes and tasting notes presented at your table so you can mull over a fruity SSB or an utterly delicious Tempranillo (my fave!) to accompany your lunch.
The uncomplicated menu allows you to appreciate both the food and wine while gazing out over the valley.
Green Door is a must do in the Ferguson Valley.
