Harvey River Bridge Estate | Harvey

A wonder through cellar door revealed quite the selection of locally produced wines and produce to sample, even though it was only 10 am we decided to try the selection on offer – who wouldn’t?

Clean crisp whites and a delightful rose really set the tone for wines that have grapes sourced locally and from vines grown in the southwest.  A few bottles of the the 2016 Harvey River Bridge Estate Rose were swiftly purchased for a summers evening!

It all started with the arrival of the Sorgiovanni family matriarch Joseph, who migrated from Caulonia, Italy to Harvey in 1928. Settling on a small farm plot on Third Street he started a plantation of orange trees which grew rapidly over time eventually developing into the well known family established brand - Harvey Fresh. Our Cellar Door is situated on the original small plot, alongside the Harvey River.

The Big Orange has always been an icon in Harvey. It was originally situated on the South West Highway as a tourist attraction, but was relocated to our Orange orchard where it now sits atop of a 10 metre tower with 62 steps to climb and offers a spectacular view and a little bit of history about the beginnings of Harvey.

Located on the site of the original orange orchards that supply Harvey Fresh the story of the Siourgiovani family is swathed in Harvey history.
